8. Recommendation for Revocation of Operating and Degree Granting Authority of an Independent Institution (Action)
This item recommends that the Illinois Board of Higher Education revoke the Certificate of approval and Authorization to Operate of American Islamic College and further revoke the institution's Authorization to Grant the following degrees: the Associate of Arts, the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Studies, and the Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies.(Presentation by Gary Alexander)

This item recommends approval of four new associate degree programs at the following community colleges: Richard J. Daley College; John A. 12. Fiscal Year 2005 Appropriations for Higher Education, General Assembly Action (Information)
This item provides and overview of the fiscal year 2005 budget for higher education approved by the Illinois General Assembly on July 24, 2004. The General Assembly's budget includes $2.2 billion in state general funds for higher education operations and grants. The General Assembly delayed action on new capital spending for fiscal year 2005, although the budget did include re-appropriations totaling $820.5 million for previously authorized higher education capital projects.(Presentation by Dan Layzell)
