FISCAL OFFICER
The Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) has an immediate opening for a Fiscal Officer. IBHE has responsibilities for policy, program, and fiscal analysis for higher education issues in Illinois. Accordingly, staff assignments are varied and provide unique opportunities for professional development. To learn more about IBHE, visit the website at http://www.ibhe.org. The Fiscal Officer is responsible for all fiscal and procurement functions at IBHE. Primary responsibilities include preparation of monthly financial reports, annual budget forms and the agency’s GAAP package, processing payroll, preparing agency contracts and intergovernmental agreements in accordance with the State Procurement Act, and acting as audit liaison with external auditors. In addition, the Fiscal Officer supervises the processing of vouchers and receipts. The preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (CPA is preferred) with at least five years of experience in government or not-for-profit organization. Preferred candidates will have a working knowledge of the following systems: Central Payroll, AIS, SAMS, IOC Wedge, and the Illinois Procurement Bulletin. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position located in Springfield, Illinois.
